Calling All Artists

Please join us for the first RiNo Art District Annual Breakfast!

Thursday, February 11th at 9:30am

Summit Church - 3300 Walnut Street

We need our artists to represent at this event! We'll be hosting Mayor Hancock and want to have a great showing of all the artists who have made this community great!

Fresh off the heels of our tenth anniversary celebration, and the successful establishment of both a Business Improvement District (BID) and General Improvement District (GID) to support the neighborhood, the RiNo Art District is ready to step into a new decade driven by their hallmark creativity, tenacity, and dedication to the arts.

Enjoy free cider-mimosas and a light breakfast too! New to the district? Come see what we're doing in 2016.

We have more artists in the district than ever and are putting together these initiatives to continue our success. We'll be presenting the following artist initiatives and would love your feedback.

Ten RiNo Artist Initiatives for 2016!

1) RiNo Creative Space Connection – Helping connect artists and creatives with available space in the district with an online resource. Facilitating opportunities for creative space by connecting artists and property owners.

2) ArtSpace Affordable Live/Work Space – We are under way with the proposed project of 84 units in RiNo. These artist live/work units range from 1-3 bedrooms and are low income qualified. The project is currently in the Pre-Development phase. Estimated completion 2018-19.

3) RiNo Road Show – A traveling selection of RiNo Artists work with 100% of sales going to the artist. This exhibition will travel around the district throughout the year.

4) RiNo Made – RiNo’s version of Etsy with art & products being sold on our website as well as at various shops interested in carrying their work. 100% of the proceeds going to the artist or maker.

5) Supply an Artist Program – A database of available recycled materials in the neighborhood available for creative projects.

6) RiNo Mural Program – The RiNo Art District will actively work with developers and property owners in the district to match them with RiNo muralists for site specific commissions.

7) Build Studios – The RiNo Art District encourages those working on projects in the district to consider including affordable artist studios, galleries, or mixed use art spaces.

8) RiNo Artist Matching – Need art work for your business? We can help connect you with one of the artists or creatives in the neighborhood to purchase their work.

9) Hire Local – RiNo includes over over 100 creative businesses, offering a wide variety of services. Consider contracting with one of these businesses for your project; you'll engender goodwill, support the local economy, get some local personality, buy hiring local.

10) 1% for Art - The City of Denver maintains a policy that 1% of any capital improvement project undertaken by the city be set aside for art. As part of our Artist Initiatives, we encourage developers to include money specifically for the inclusion of site-specific creative components.
